The top trends at Frankfurt motor show 2009
1. Carbonfibre. From the tub in the oddball Volkswagen L1 to the wing mirrors of the Mercedes SLS, the glossy black woven stuff, both real and fake, is everywhere.2.
IED will reveal the Cisitalia 202 E Concept – a modern version of the Pininfarina-designed 1947 Cisitalia 202 – at next month's Geneva motor show. Design students of the Master of Arts in Transportation Design developed the Cisitalia 202 E (Evolution) Concept at the IED in Turin as part of their work experience program during the 2010-2011 academic year. IED has announced that, "the concept faithfully reflects the design of the historic vehicle, with dimensions and power aligned with modern times."
Technical partners of the project include CECOMP (prototype construction), Pirelli, OZ Racing and ABET Laminati.
The latest Audi e-tron - the Audi A1 e-tron
Early yesterday we reported that Audi were to bring the third iteration of their e-tron concepts to the Geneva Motor Show – the Audi A1 e-tron. Which makes a lot more sense than trying to make an electric car in to some sort of niche electric supercar, which seemed to be Audi’s aim with the R8 e-tron and the R4 e-tron. Small, urban cars are the only really practical place for an electric car to flourish, and the Audi A1 is a very sensible place to be with the e-tron project.
